Description

10,12-Conjugated linoleic acid (CAS 2420-56-6), commonly abbreviated as T10C12 CLA or 10E,12Z-CLA, is a positional and geometric isomer of linoleic acid in which the double bonds are conjugated at the 10 and 12 carbon positions. It occurs naturally in ruminant-derived fats and is commercially produced via alkaline isomerization of linoleic acid.

In nutritional supplement and functional food formulations, T10C12 CLA is incorporated for its documented effect on body composition, specifically its role in modulating lipid metabolism and reducing adipocyte differentiation. In animal feed applications, it is used to adjust milk fat composition in dairy cattle by suppressing mammary lipogenesis. Its antioxidant activity also supports oxidative stability in fat-containing matrices.

T10C12 CLA is supplied as an oil, typically as a free fatty acid or triglyceride blend, often in combination with the c9,t11 isomer. Material is available under REACH registration for EU supply. Buyers should confirm isomer ratio specifications and request certificates of analysis aligned with FCC or internal quality standards.
