Description
(2,3-Dibromopropyl)phosphate, commonly known as TBPP or TDBP and also referred to by trade names such as Tris, T 23P, and ES 685, is a halogenated organophosphate flame retardant with CAS number 126-72-7 and EC number 204-799-9. It carries no assigned E-code.
TBPP is used primarily in textile and polymer applications where it is incorporated into fibers, foams, and coatings to interrupt combustion at the radical chain reaction stage. In building and construction materials and electronics components, it functions by releasing bromine radicals during thermal decomposition, suppressing flame propagation in the gas phase.
