2-(Dimethylamino)-2-methyl-1-propanol, commonly known as DMAMP or DMAMP-80, is a tertiary amino alcohol supplied under trade designations including DMAMP-80(TM) and referenced under NSC 17706. It carries CAS number 7005-47-2 and EC number 230-279-6, and holds no assigned E-code. It belongs to the aliphatic amine family.

In waterborne coatings and adhesives, DMAMP neutralises acidic resin systems to adjust pH and improve dispersion stability, enabling consistent film formation. In water treatment formulations, its amine functionality provides corrosion inhibition by adsorbing onto metal surfaces. It also functions as an emulsification aid in textile and paper processing where controlled charge balance is required.

DMAMP is available under REACH registration for supply within the EU and EEA. It is sourced in technical grade, with the 80% aqueous solution being the standard commercial form. Packaging typically follows industrial drum and IBC formats in compliance with applicable transport and storage regulations.
