3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (CAS 2530-85-0) is a bifunctional organosilane coupling agent sold under trade names including A-174, Z-6030, Bind-Silane, Polyfix 100, and Polyfix 1000. It carries no assigned E-code. The molecule combines a methacrylate group with a trimethoxysilyl group, enabling covalent bonding between organic polymers and inorganic substrates.

In glass fibre-reinforced composites, the silane end hydrolyses and condenses onto the glass surface while the methacrylate group co-polymerises with the resin matrix, significantly improving interfacial adhesion and wet mechanical strength. In UV- and peroxide-cured coatings for electronics and automotive components, it functions as an adhesion promoter and cross-linker simultaneously, reducing delamination under thermal cycling.
