Description

4,4'-Dithiodimorpholine (CAS 103-34-4) is an organosulfur compound also known by the trade names Sulfasan and Sulfasan R, and commonly abbreviated as DTDM or morpholine disulfide. It belongs to the amine-based accelerator and sulfur-donor class of rubber chemicals, registered under EC number 203-103-0.

In rubber compounding, 4,4'-Dithiodimorpholine functions as a sulfur donor and secondary accelerator, releasing active sulfur during vulcanization to form stable crosslinks within the polymer network. It is used in tire manufacturing and industrial rubber goods where controlled cure rates and improved heat aging resistance are required compared to elemental sulfur systems.

The material is supplied as a powder or crystalline solid and is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU market supply. Procurement quantities typically range from kilogram laboratory packs to multi-tonne bulk shipments. Buyers should confirm supplier SDS documentation and confirm compliance with applicable workplace exposure regulations before ordering.
