Description

4-Chloro-2-nitroaniline (CAS 89-63-4) is an aromatic amine intermediate used primarily as a diazonium coupling component in azo dye synthesis. It is commercially known under trade names including Devol Red F, Fast Red 3GL Base, Fast Red 2NC Base, Daito Red Base 3GL, and Diazo Fast Red 3GL.

In textile and leather dyeing, the compound is diazotized on-fibre and coupled with naphthol developers to produce fast red azo shades directly on the substrate surface, a process that anchors the colorant within the material rather than applying a pre-formed dye. In printing and packaging, it serves as a precursor for manufacturing insoluble azo pigments used in inks and coatings.

Supplied under REACH registration requirements applicable to EU importers and downstream users, the material is available in technical grade. Standard packaging formats follow industrial chemical conventions; buyers should confirm lot-specific documentation including SDS and certificate of analysis at point of order.
