Description

Allura Red AC (CAS 25956-17-6), also known as E129, Red 40, and DM 40 M, is a synthetic azo dye approved for use across food, cosmetic, and industrial applications in the European Union and globally. It produces a bright red to orange-red hue through its disodium salt structure, which absorbs light in the blue-green spectrum.

In food and beverage manufacturing, E129 functions as a direct colorant in products such as soft drinks, confectionery, and sauces, delivering consistent hue stability across varying pH ranges. In personal care formulations, it imparts colour to rinse-off and leave-on products, while in textile processing it bonds to fibre substrates under controlled dyebath conditions.

Allura Red AC is available in powder form compliant with EU food additive regulations (E129) and FCC specifications, with REACH registration applicable for industrial-grade supply. Procurement quantities typically range from kilogram to metric-tonne scale, with documentation including CoA, SDS, and origin declarations available on request.
