Description

Aloe vera extract (CAS 85507-69-3, EC 287-390-8) is a concentrated botanical derived from the leaves of Aloe barbadensis Miller, standardised to active polysaccharides, primarily acemannan. It is also referenced under the trade designations Aloes and AloeVeraP.E, and carries no assigned E-code under EU food additive legislation.

In cosmetic formulations, the extract functions as a humectant by binding water within the stratum corneum, reducing transepidermal moisture loss in creams and serums. In food and nutraceutical applications, its antioxidant polyphenol content helps retard oxidative degradation in functional beverages and dietary supplements.

The extract is supplied in crystalline solid form and is available in cosmetic-grade and food-grade specifications, with compliance assessed against REACH registration requirements and relevant FCC standards for food applications. Procurement quantities are available in standard bulk formats; buyers should confirm grade-specific certificates of analysis and country-of-origin documentation prior to ordering.
