Alpha-Carotene

Alpha-Carotene (CAS 7488-99-5, EC 200-838-9, formula C40H56) is a naturally occurring carotenoid pigment and provitamin A compound. It is the optical isomer of beta-carotene and is found in high concentrations in carrots, pumpkin, and palm oil. No E-code designation applies to alpha-carotene as a standalone additive.
