Description

Alpha-Tocopherol acetate (CAS 58-95-7), also known as Vitamin E acetate or Tocopheryl acetate, is the acetate ester form of natural Vitamin E. It is sold under trade names including D-ECON, D-FERTILVIT, and D-CONTOPHERON, and is classified under HS code 29362800 for customs purposes.

In personal care formulations, the acetate group protects the molecule from oxidation during processing, then cleaves enzymatically on skin to release active tocopherol, which neutralises free radicals and supports the skin barrier. In food and nutritional products, it functions as a fat-soluble antioxidant that retards lipid peroxidation, extending shelf life of oils and fortified foods.

Alpha-Tocopherol acetate is available in pharmaceutical-grade (Ph.Eur., USP) and food-grade (FCC) specifications, with cosmetic grades conforming to REACH registration requirements. It is supplied as an oil or semi-solid in drums and IBCs, with documentation supporting both EU food additive and cosmetic ingredient compliance.
