Description

Alpha-Tocopherol (CAS 59-02-9) is the most biologically active form of vitamin E, commercially available under trade names including Esorb, Eprolin, E-Vimin, Epsilan, and Almefrol. It is a fat-soluble antioxidant naturally occurring in plant oils and produced synthetically for industrial supply.

In food and nutrition, alpha-tocopherol scavenges free radicals in lipid-rich matrices, interrupting oxidative chain reactions that cause rancidity and shelf-life degradation. In personal care formulations, it protects skin lipids from UV-induced peroxidation and supports barrier function. In plastics processing, it acts as a heat stabilizer by neutralizing peroxy radicals generated during high-temperature extrusion.

Alpha-tocopherol is supplied in food-grade (FCC), pharmaceutical-grade (Ph.Eur.), and technical grades to meet application-specific compliance requirements. It is fully REACH-registered for EU supply. Packaging is available in drums and IBCs, with documentation supporting both food and cosmetic regulatory submissions.
