Alpha-tocopherolum

Alpha-Tocopherolum (CAS 1406-18-4) is the biologically active form of Vitamin E, commercially available under trade names including Aquasol E, Rocavit E, and E-Mix 40. It is a fat-soluble nutrient recognised across food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications for its antioxidant activity.

In food and feed manufacturing, Alpha-Tocopherolum retards lipid oxidation by scavenging free radicals in fatty matrices, extending shelf life of oils, fats, and fortified products. In topical formulations, it supports skin barrier function by neutralising oxidative stress in cell membranes, and is incorporated into emollients and moisturising creams for this mechanism.

Alpha-Tocopherolum is sourced in natural and synthetic grades, with natural-source material typically meeting Ph.Eur. and FCC specifications. It is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU. Packaging formats commonly include drums and IBCs suited to its viscous oil form.
