Description

Aluminium lactate (CAS 18917-91-4) is the aluminium salt of lactic acid, available under trade names including PURAMEX AL and Takiceram, with the product code designation 2500F also in common use. It carries no assigned E-number and is distinct from other aluminium salts used in food or cosmetic applications.

In food and beverage formulations, aluminium lactate functions as a pH buffer and mild acidulant, stabilising acidity in systems where precise pH control affects texture or shelf life. In personal care, it acts as an astringent and skin-conditioning agent by interacting with proteins at the skin surface, and it is also explored in pharmaceutical topical preparations for similar mechanisms.

The material is supplied as a powder and may be available in food-grade or cosmetic-grade specifications. Procurement teams should verify compliance with REACH registration requirements and confirm suitability against FCC or relevant pharmacopoeial standards depending on the intended application and target market.
