Description

Aluminum Distearate (CAS 300-92-5) is a metallic soap formed from aluminium and stearic acid, also referred to as aluminium hydroxyl distearate. It carries no assigned E-code and is distinct from aluminium tristearate. It is commercially available under various trade designations across European chemical markets.

In lubricant and grease formulations, Aluminum Distearate functions as a gelling agent by forming structured networks within aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon carriers, controlling flow behaviour under shear. In plastics processing, it acts as an internal lubricant and mould release agent, reducing friction between polymer chains and metal surfaces during extrusion or moulding.
