Description

Aminotrimethylenephosphonic Acid Sodium Salt (CAS 20592-85-2) is the sodium salt form of ATMP, a phosphonate chelating agent supplied under trade names including Sequion 20Na38 and Briquest 301 Low AM. It carries no assigned E-code and is identified under EC number 243-900-0.

In water treatment, it inhibits scale formation by binding calcium, magnesium, and iron ions before they precipitate onto pipe surfaces and heat exchangers. In textile and paper processing, it sequesters hardness ions in process water, preventing interference with dye uptake and bleaching chemistry. Oil and gas applications use it to control carbonate and sulfate scale in injection and production systems.

This product is supplied in sodium salt grade and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Economic Area. Procurement teams should confirm concentration, sodium content, and active matter specification with the supplier, as these vary across commercial grades.
