Description
Ammonium fluoride (NH4F, CAS 12125-01-8) is an inorganic salt produced by neutralising ammonia with hydrofluoric acid. It carries no E-code designation and is also referenced under the names Neutral ammonium fluoride and ammoniumfluoride((NH4)F). It is registered under REACH and assigned EC number 235-185-9.
In electronics manufacturing, ammonium fluoride acts as a buffering agent in oxide-etching baths, controlling etch rate by maintaining stable fluoride ion concentration alongside hydrofluoric acid. In textile and paper processing, it functions as a flame retardant by releasing fluoride ions under thermal stress, interfering with combustion chemistry. It also serves as a pH buffer in leather finishing formulations.
This product is supplied as a white crystalline powder in technical grade. It is compliant with REACH registration requirements and handled under standard fluoride compound safety protocols. Packaging is available in multi-layer bags and intermediate bulk containers, with documentation including SDS and certificate of analysis on request.
