Description
Ammonium hydroxide (CAS 1336-21-6), also known as aqua ammonia or ammonia water, is an aqueous solution of ammonia gas commercially available at concentrations typically ranging from 5% to 30% NH3. It carries no E-code designation and is registered under REACH with EC number 215-647-6.
In water treatment, ammonium hydroxide raises pH to precipitate heavy metals and neutralise acidic effluents, with dosing controlled to maintain target buffer ranges. In textile and leather processing, it saponifies fats and adjusts dye-bath pH to improve fibre uptake. Pharmaceutical manufacturers use it as a pH regulator in synthesis and formulation processes under controlled conditions.
This product is supplied in technical, industrial, and reagent grades, with pharmaceutical-grade material conforming to Ph.Eur. specifications. It is available in IBC containers, drums, and bulk tanker deliveries. All grades are compliant with REACH regulations, and documentation including SDS and certificates of analysis is provided upon request.
