Description
Ammonium persulfate (CAS 7727-54-0, EC 231-786-5), also known as ammonium persulphate, diammonium persulfate, and ammonium peroxydisulfate, is an inorganic oxidizing salt with the formula H8N2O8S2. It carries no E-code designation and is not approved as a food additive.
In plastics and electronics manufacturing, ammonium persulfate acts as a free-radical initiator, decomposing at elevated temperatures to generate sulfate radicals that trigger polymerization of acrylamide and styrene-based monomers. In PCB production, it functions as a chemical etchant, selectively oxidizing and dissolving copper layers with controlled precision.
This material is supplied as a white crystalline powder in technical and industrial grades, compliant with REACH registration requirements for EU supply. Standard packaging includes 25 kg bags and bulk quantities. Buyers should confirm lot-specific purity certificates and SDS documentation prior to procurement.
