Ammonium thiocyanate (CAS 1762-95-4), also known as ammonium rhodanate, ammonium rhodanide, and ammonium sulfocyanide, is an inorganic salt supplied as a colorless hygroscopic solid. It carries no E-code designation and is registered under EC number 217-175-6.

In textile and leather processing, ammonium thiocyanate functions as a flame retardant by releasing nitrogen- and sulfur-containing decomposition gases that interrupt combustion chemistry at the flame front. It is also applied in building and construction materials and polymer formulations where halogen-free flame retardancy is required by specification.
