Description

Bis(2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethyl) adipate, commonly known as BXA and sold under trade names including Wareflex and TP-95, is a diester plasticizer derived from adipic acid. It carries CAS number 141-17-3 and EC number 205-465-5, and has no assigned E-code.

In PVC and synthetic rubber compounding, BXA functions by intercalating between polymer chains to reduce glass transition temperature and improve low-temperature flexibility. It also serves as a process solvent in lubricant formulations and as a carrier fluid in automotive and aerospace sealant systems, where its ether-ester structure contributes to compatibility with polar substrates.

BXA is supplied as a liquid under REACH registration and is available in standard industrial drum and IBC formats. Procurement teams should confirm supplier documentation for REACH compliance, SDS availability, and batch traceability. No FCC or Ph.Eur. monograph applies to this substance.
