Bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate, commonly known as DOS and sold under trade names including PX 438, Octoil S, Staflex DOS, Bisoflex DOS, and Monoplex DOS, is a diester plasticizer derived from sebacic acid and 2-ethylhexanol. In PVC and synthetic rubber compounding, DOS functions as a low-temperature plasticizer, maintaining flexibility at temperatures down to approximately -60°C by reducing polymer chain interactions.
