Description

Bis(2-ethylhexyl) tetrabromophthalate (CAS 26040-51-7) is a brominated flame retardant and plasticizer supplied as a viscous oil, commonly identified by the trade names TBPH, BEH-TEBP, DP 45, FRP 45, and Pyronil 45. It carries EC number 247-426-5 and has no assigned E-code.

In flexible PVC and polyurethane foam formulations, TBPH functions simultaneously as a flame retardant and plasticizer, reducing flammability by releasing bromine radicals that interrupt combustion chain reactions while also improving substrate flexibility. It is used in wire and cable insulation, building panels, and electronic enclosures where both fire performance and mechanical compliance are required.

TBPH is supplied in industrial drum and IBC formats and is subject to REACH registration obligations within the EU. Procurement teams should verify current SVHC candidate list status and request a full SDS prior to ordering. Specification sheets confirming bromine content and viscosity are available on request.
