Description

C.I. Pigment Blue 29, also known as Ultramarine Blue, is an inorganic blue pigment identified by CAS 57455-37-5 and EC 611-533-9. It is commercially available under trade names including PB 80, PB 100, Ultrablue, and gunjo 4000, and carries the colour index designation CI 77007.

In coatings and plastics, Ultramarine Blue provides stable blue coloration through its complex sulphur-containing aluminosilicate structure, which absorbs red and yellow wavelengths while reflecting blue. In textile and paper applications, it functions as a whitening agent by counteracting yellowing through optical complementary colour correction.

This pigment is supplied as a dry powder in grades formulated for specific end-use compatibility, including coatings, polymer, and printing grades. It falls under REACH registration requirements for EU supply. Packaging is typically available in multi-wall paper sacks or bulk containers depending on volume requirements.
