Description

C.I. Pigment Yellow 17 (CAS 4531-49-1) is a disazo organic pigment also identified by the colour index number C.I. 21105 and known commercially as Pigment Yellow GG and Benzidine Yellow GG. It belongs to the diarylide pigment family and is supplied as a solid nanomaterial.

In printing inks, PY17 delivers strong yellow-green hues with good transparency, making it suitable for process colour work in offset and packaging applications. In coatings and plastics, it functions as a surface-active colorant, influencing substrate wetting behaviour and pigment dispersion stability during formulation.

PY17 is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU and should be handled in accordance with applicable nanomaterial obligations given its solid nanomaterial classification. It is available for procurement in standard industrial grades; buyers should confirm packaging format, particle size specification, and SDS documentation directly with the supplier.
