Description

Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3, E 170) is an inorganic mineral salt occurring naturally as calcite and aragonite. Commercially supplied as chalk or precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), it carries EC number 207-439-9 and is registered under REACH for industrial use across European markets.

In pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing, it functions as both an antacid buffer and a heat stabilizer, neutralizing excess gastric acid through direct proton absorption. In PVC and polymer processing, it acts as a thermal stabilizer and filler, reducing degradation during high-temperature extrusion. Water treatment applications rely on its controlled dissolution to raise pH and suppress microbial activity in distribution systems.

Calcium Carbonate is available in food-grade (E 170), Ph.Eur., and FCC-compliant grades, as well as technical and USP specifications. Both ground (GCC) and precipitated (PCC) forms are offered, with particle size distributions tailored to application requirements. Standard packaging includes 25 kg bags and bulk quantities, with full REACH documentation supplied.
