Description

Calcium peroxide (CAS 1305-79-9) is an inorganic oxidising compound commercially available under trade names including Calper, Ixper C, Calper G, and Neocaloxo, and sometimes referred to as calcium dioxide. It releases oxygen and hydrogen peroxide upon contact with water, making it a controlled, slow-release oxidant for industrial applications.

In water treatment, calcium peroxide remediates contaminated groundwater by delivering sustained oxygen to support aerobic biodegradation of organic pollutants. In agriculture, it supplies oxygen to waterlogged soils and acts as a seed coating agent to improve germination rates. In food and textile processing, it functions as a bleaching and dough-conditioning agent through controlled peroxide release.

Calcium peroxide is supplied in technical and food-grade forms, with food applications subject to relevant national food additive regulations. It is covered under REACH and requires an SDS compliant with EU regulation. Typical packaging includes multi-wall paper bags or fibre drums; specific grades and pack sizes are available on request.
