Description

Calcium sulfate dihydrate (CAS 13397-24-5) is a naturally occurring mineral salt, commonly known as gypsum, and traded under names including Gips and G 75. It is the hydrated form of calcium sulfate and carries the EC number 231-900-3. No E-code designation applies to this substance.

In building and construction, calcium sulfate dihydrate controls the setting time of Portland cement by regulating aluminate hydration, preventing flash set. In agriculture, it improves soil structure by displacing sodium ions and supplying calcium and sulfur to crops. In food processing, it acts as a coagulant in tofu production, triggering protein network formation.

This material is sourced as irregular granules or chunks and is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU supply. Food and feed-grade material must conform to applicable purity specifications such as FCC or relevant feed additive regulations. Procurement quantities and packaging formats are available on request.
