Description

Copper phthalocyanine (CAS 147-14-8) is a synthetic macrocyclic pigment built around a central copper atom coordinated within a planar phthalocyanine ring system. It is commercially identified under names including CuPC, Pigment Blue 15, BLUEP5B, Blue 15B, and BT 4651, with no assigned E-code.

In architectural and industrial coatings, copper phthalocyanine delivers intense blue coloration through strong light absorption in the red and yellow spectral regions, with the copper centre providing exceptional lightfastness and heat stability. In plastics compounding and printing inks, its tightly packed crystal structure resists migration and bleed, maintaining colour integrity under mechanical and thermal stress.

This material is supplied as a fine crystalline powder in alpha and beta crystal grades, with beta phase (Pigment Blue 15:3) being the standard for most industrial applications. It is compliant with REACH regulations and available in 25 kg bags or bulk quantities; buyers should confirm grade specification against target application requirements.
