Cyclohexylamine

Cyclohexylamine (CAS 108-91-8, EC 203-629-0, formula C6H13N), also known as aminocyclohexane and hexahydroaniline, is a primary aliphatic amine produced by the catalytic hydrogenation of aniline. It carries no E-code designation and is classified under HS code 29213000.

In rubber and polymer manufacturing, cyclohexylamine acts as a crosslinker by reacting with epoxy or isocyanate groups to form covalent network structures that improve mechanical strength. In water treatment and steam systems, it functions as a corrosion inhibitor and pH buffer, neutralizing acidic condensate to protect metal pipework. It also serves as a synthesis intermediate in pharmaceutical and agrochemical production.
