Description

Decaethylene Glycol Monododecyl Ether (CAS 6540-99-4), also known by the abbreviations C12 E10 and Laureth-9, is a nonionic ethoxylated fatty alcohol surfactant. It is commercially available under trade names including Cimagel, G 2130A, and Lanettes, and carries no assigned E-code.

In personal care formulations, it functions as an emulsifier by reducing interfacial tension between oil and water phases, stabilising creams and lotions at low use levels. In industrial water treatment and textile processing, it acts as a dispersant and cleaning agent, solubilising oils and particulates from fibre surfaces and process equipment through its balanced hydrophilic-lipophilic character.

This material is supplied in compliance with REACH registration requirements applicable to EU importers and downstream users. Procurement teams should confirm available grades against relevant cosmetic or industrial specifications, as purity profiles vary by manufacturer. Standard packaging formats include drums and IBCs for bulk industrial supply.
