Description

Dextrose monohydrate (CAS 14431-43-7) is the monohydrate crystalline form of D-glucose, a naturally derived simple sugar obtained primarily from starch hydrolysis. It is also referred to as glucose monohydrate, dextrose hydrous, or simply dextrose, and carries no E-number designation in the EU.

In food and nutrition manufacturing, dextrose monohydrate serves as a fermentation substrate and mild sweetener, providing a controlled energy source for yeast and bacterial cultures. In personal care formulations, it functions as a humectant and skin conditioner by drawing moisture to the skin surface, and as a chelating agent it can sequester metal ions that would otherwise destabilize a formula.

Dextrose monohydrate is available in food-grade, pharmaceutical-grade (Ph.Eur., USP/FCC), and cosmetic-grade specifications. It is fully REACH-registered and compliant with EU food additive regulations. Standard packaging includes 25 kg bags, with bulk options available depending on grade and volume requirements.
