Description

Di-Trimethylolpropane (CAS 23235-61-2, EC 245-509-0) is a tetrafunctional polyol derived from trimethylolpropane, commonly abbreviated as Di-TMP or DTMP. It carries no E-code designation. Its four hydroxyl groups make it structurally distinct from its monomer precursor and determine its reactivity profile in polymer systems.

Di-TMP functions as a crosslinking agent and chain extender in radiation-curable coatings and UV-curable acrylate systems, where its four reactive sites increase network density and improve scratch resistance. In synthetic lubricant formulations, it serves as a polyol base for esterification reactions, producing esters with defined viscosity and thermal stability characteristics.

Di-TMP is supplied in powder or crystalline form and is subject to REACH registration requirements for import and manufacture within the EU. It is classified under HS code 29094990. Buyers should confirm grade specifications and technical data sheets directly with the supplier to ensure suitability for their application.
