In agriculture, it serves as a high-analysis nitrogen and phosphorus fertiliser, delivering both nutrients in a single application with an HS code classification of 31053000. In flame retardancy applications for textiles and cellulosic materials, it works by releasing ammonia and phosphoric acid upon heating, interrupting combustion and promoting char formation rather than flaming decomposition. It also functions as a pH buffer in industrial processes where controlled acidity is required.
