Description

Dibasic ester (DBE) is a blend of dimethyl esters of adipic, glutaric, and succinic acids, registered under CAS 95481-62-2 and EC 619-131-5. It carries no E-code designation and is commercially available under trade names including HDBE, IMSOL, ESTASOL, and Nusolv RPDE.

In industrial cleaning and degreasing, DBE penetrates and dissolves heavy grease, resin residues, and cured coatings by disrupting non-polar molecular bonds, making it effective in paint strippers and parts-cleaning formulations. In printing and packaging, it functions as a carrier solvent that controls ink viscosity and slows evaporation rate to improve print definition.

DBE is supplied as a technical-grade liquid and falls under REACH regulation, requiring an up-to-date Safety Data Sheet for EU trade. It is classified under HS code 3824 99 92 and is typically available in drum and IBC formats from European distributors.
