Description

Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, commonly abbreviated as DHHB and sold under trade names including Uvinul A Plus and UVA Plus, is an organic UVA filter with CAS number 302776-68-7 and EC number 443-860-6. It belongs to the benzophenone-derived absorber class and absorbs UV radiation in the 320–400 nm range.

In sunscreen and personal care formulations, DHHB absorbs UVA radiation and converts it to heat, protecting both the skin and the product matrix from photodegradation. It is also incorporated into coatings and polymer systems where it prevents UV-induced yellowing and mechanical degradation of the substrate over time.

DHHB is supplied for use in cosmetic formulations approved under EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009, where it is listed as a permitted UV filter. It is subject to standard REACH registration requirements for the European market. Procurement quantities typically range from laboratory-scale packaging to bulk industrial formats depending on supplier.
