In personal care formulations, it functions as an oil-in-water emulsifier by reducing interfacial tension between aqueous and lipid phases, stabilising creams and lotions. In textile processing, it acts as a softening and lubricating agent, improving fibre handling by forming a thin ester film on the substrate surface. It also serves as a solvent carrier in printing ink systems.
