Diethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid) sodium salt, commonly referred to as DTPMP-Na or DTPMPA, is a phosphonate-based chelating agent registered under CAS 22042-96-2 and EC 244-751-4. It is commercially available under trade names including DEQUEST 2066 and Wayplex 55S. No E-code designation applies to this substance.

In water treatment, DTPMP-Na inhibits scale formation by binding calcium, magnesium, and iron ions before they precipitate onto pipe surfaces, and suppresses corrosion through threshold inhibition at low dosage levels. In oil and gas applications, it controls mineral scale deposition in production lines and injection systems. Textile and paper processing operations use it to sequester hardness ions that would otherwise interfere with dyeing and bleaching chemistry.

DTPMP-Na is supplied in liquid form and is subject to REACH registration requirements for import and manufacture within the EU. Buyers should confirm sodium content and active substance concentration with the supplier prior to procurement, as these vary between grades.
