Description

Dihexyl phthalate (DHP), also known by the trade name Jayflex DHP and referenced under NSC 4817, is a phthalate ester plasticizer with CAS number 84-75-3. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified under HS code 29173490. The molecular formula is C20H30O4.

In PVC compounding, DHP lowers the glass transition temperature of the polymer matrix, improving flexibility and processability in films, cables, and automotive interior components. In coatings and sealant formulations, it functions as a secondary plasticizer, reducing viscosity and improving adhesion without migrating rapidly from the cured film.

DHP is supplied as a clear liquid and is available in standard industrial drum and IBC packaging. Procurement teams should verify REACH compliance status and confirm substance registration under EU regulations before sourcing. No FCC or Ph.Eur. grade designations apply to this substance.
