Description

Diisodecyl adipate (DIDA) is a synthetic ester plasticizer derived from adipic acid and isodecanol, commercially available under trade names including Witamol 380, Monoplex DDA, Vinycizer 50, and Kodaflex DIDA. It carries CAS number 27178-16-1 and EC number 248-299-9, and carries no assigned E-code.

In PVC compounding, DIDA functions as a primary plasticizer, reducing polymer chain rigidity to produce flexible films and cables with strong low-temperature performance. In lubricant formulations, its ester structure provides film-forming properties that reduce metal-to-metal friction, making it suitable for automotive and metalworking fluids where thermal stability is required.

DIDA is supplied as a clear liquid and is available in standard industrial grades compliant with REACH registration requirements. Typical packaging includes drums and IBC containers. Procurement teams should confirm supplier documentation for REACH compliance and any application-specific purity specifications before sourcing.
