Description

Diisononyl phthalate (DINP, CAS 28553-12-0) is a high-molecular-weight phthalate plasticizer supplied under trade names including Witamol 150, Enj 2065, and dinp3. It carries EC number 249-079-5 and belongs to the phthalate ester family, with the molecular formula C26H42O4.

In PVC compounding, DINP reduces polymer chain rigidity by inserting between macromolecular chains, lowering the glass transition temperature and enabling flexible profiles for cables, flooring, and automotive interior components. In rubber formulations, it improves processing flow and maintains flexibility across a broad service temperature range, making it suitable for seals and gaskets in construction and electronics applications.

DINP is available as a clear oily liquid and is subject to REACH regulation, including authorisation requirements under Annex XIV for certain uses. Procurement teams should verify current SVHC status and end-use restrictions before sourcing. The product is classified under HS code 2917.34.0150 for customs purposes.
