Description

Dioctyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate (DOSS) is an anionic surfactant supplied as a colorless to light yellow liquid, commercially available under trade names including Texapon DOS, Elfanol 883, Solbaleite, and Bu-Cerumen. It carries no assigned E-code and is identified by CAS 1639-66-3 and EC 216-684-0.

In personal care formulations, DOSS functions as a wetting and emulsifying agent by reducing interfacial tension between oil and water phases, enabling stable emulsion formation in creams and ear-drop preparations. In agricultural adjuvant systems and textile processing, it improves substrate penetration by lowering surface tension, allowing active ingredients or dyes to spread and absorb more uniformly.

DOSS is available in liquid grade suitable for industrial and cosmetic applications and is compliant with REACH regulations for the European market. It is offered in standard drum and IBC packaging. Procurement teams should confirm food-contact or pharmaceutical suitability against applicable FCC or Ph.Eur. specifications prior to use.
