Description

Dipentyl phthalate (DPP), also known as diamyl phthalate or amyl phthalate and sold under trade names including Amoil and DPNP, is a phthalate ester plasticizer with CAS 131-18-0 and EC 205-017-9. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified under HS code 29173490.

In PVC and rubber compounding, DPP functions by intercalating between polymer chains, reducing intermolecular forces and lowering the glass transition temperature to improve flexibility and processability. It is also used in printing inks and automotive sealants where controlled viscosity and compatibility with resin systems are required.

DPP is supplied as a liquid grade and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU; procurement teams should verify current SVHC status and supplier SDS documentation before sourcing. Packaging formats vary by supplier and volume; buyers should confirm available container sizes and regional compliance documentation at the point of inquiry.
