Description

Dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether (DPDME) is a glycol ether solvent commercially available under trade names including Proglyde DMM, Proglyme, and Hisorb MPM. It carries CAS number 111109-77-4 and EC number 601-045-4. No E-code applies to this substance.

In industrial and household cleaning formulations, DPDME dissolves oils, greases, and resins by combining ether linkages with moderate polarity, enabling effective soil lift without aggressive odour profiles. In coatings and printing inks, it functions as a coalescing solvent and diluent, slowing evaporation rate to improve film formation and levelling on substrate surfaces.

DPDME is supplied under REACH registration and is handled in standard industrial packaging including drums and IBCs. No FCC or Ph.Eur. grade designation applies. Buyers should confirm supplier-specific purity specifications and SDS documentation prior to procurement for regulated end-use applications.
