Description

Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, commonly known as DPM, is a glycol ether solvent supplied under trade names including Dowanol DPM, Dowanol 50B, and Arcosolv DPM. It carries CAS number 34590-94-8 and EC number 252-104-2. No E-code designation applies to this substance.

In waterborne coatings, DPM functions as a coalescing agent, slowing evaporation to allow film formation at lower temperatures. In electronics cleaning and precision degreasing, its moderate evaporation rate and affinity for both polar and non-polar residues allow effective removal of flux and particulate contamination without aggressive attack on substrates.

DPM is available in standard industrial and high-purity grades and is fully registered under REACH. It is supplied in drums and IBC containers for European distribution.
