Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether, commonly known as DPM, is a glycol ether solvent supplied under trade names including Dowanol DPM, Dowanol 50B, and Arcosolv DPM. It carries CAS number 34590-94-8 and EC number 252-104-2. No E-code designation applies to this substance.
In waterborne coatings, DPM functions as a coalescing agent, slowing evaporation to allow film formation at lower temperatures.
