Description

DL-alpha-Tocopheryl acetate, also known as Vitamin E acetate or Syntopherol acetate, is the synthetic acetate ester form of Vitamin E, registered under CAS 52225-20-4. It is commercially available under trade names including Ephynal and DL-ALFACOL and is the racemic counterpart to the natural d-alpha form.

In food and feed applications, the acetate ester protects the active tocopherol from oxidation during processing and storage, releasing free Vitamin E upon enzymatic hydrolysis in the gut. In cosmetic formulations, it functions as a lipid-soluble antioxidant and skin-conditioning agent, stabilising emulsions and reducing oxidative degradation of other formula components.

DL-alpha-Tocopheryl acetate is supplied in grades conforming to Ph.Eur., USP/NF, and FCC standards, supporting pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and food-grade procurement. The substance is registered under REACH and classified under HS code 29362800. Packaging formats typically include drums and IBCs for bulk orders.
