Description

Tetrasodium EDTA (CAS 64-02-8) is a synthetic aminopolycarboxylic acid salt supplied as a crystalline powder, also known under trade names Calsol, Celon H, Celon E, and Celon IS, and abbreviated as EDTA-4Na. It carries no assigned E-code and is registered under EC 200-573-9.

In water treatment, it sequesters calcium, magnesium, and heavy metal ions by forming stable coordination complexes, preventing scale formation and metal-catalysed degradation. In personal care formulations, it deactivates trace metals that would otherwise accelerate oxidative rancidity in emulsions and reduce the efficacy of preservative systems.

Tetrasodium EDTA is available in technical and personal care grades, with food-contact and FCC-compliant grades also obtainable for applicable applications. It falls under REACH regulation and is subject to standard industrial chemical compliance requirements across EU markets. Typical supply formats include 25 kg bags and bulk quantities on request.
