Description
Tetrasodium EDTA Dihydrate (CAS 10378-23-1) is the fully neutralised tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, supplied in dihydrate form. It carries no E-code designation and is commonly referenced as Na4EDTA or Tetrasodium EDTA. It falls within the broader EDTA chelating agent family used across industrial and consumer applications.
In water treatment, it sequesters calcium, magnesium, and heavy metal ions that would otherwise cause scale formation or interfere with process chemistry. In personal care formulations, it stabilises product pH and prevents metal-catalysed oxidation of active ingredients, extending shelf stability. Textile and paper processors use it to deactivate metal ions that disrupt bleaching and dyeing uniformity.
The product is available in technical and cosmetic grades, with compliance to REACH regulations applicable for European supply. It is offered as white crystalline powder or in liquid solution form, with standard packaging in bags, drums, and IBC containers to suit bulk procurement requirements.
