Description

Ethoxylated isodecyl alcohol (CAS 61827-42-7, EC 612-519-5) is a nonionic surfactant produced by ethoxylating isodecyl alcohol with varying numbers of ethylene oxide units. It is sold under trade names including FC 2, XP 70, SD 110, SDX 60, and LT 601, with the degree of ethoxylation determining HLB value and application suitability.

In textile processing, it functions as a wetting agent by reducing interfacial tension between fiber surfaces and aqueous dye baths, improving dye penetration and uniformity. In agricultural formulations, it acts as an emulsifier for crop protection concentrates, stabilizing oil-in-water systems and enhancing active ingredient uptake on leaf surfaces. It is also used in hard-surface cleaners for its degreasing and soil-release properties.

This material is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU. It is available in multiple ethoxylation grades to suit specific HLB requirements across formulations. Procurement teams should confirm grade specification, ethylene oxide content, and packaging format directly with the supplier.
