Ethyl 4-[[(methylphenylamino)methylene]amino]benzoate, commonly known as UV-1 and sold under trade names including Zikasorb R, Honghai 901, Chisorb 971, and UV Absorber UV-1, is an organic UV absorber with CAS number 57834-33-0 and EC number 260-976-0. It belongs to the Schiff base class of UV stabilizers and carries no assigned E-code.

In polymer and coating formulations, UV-1 absorbs ultraviolet radiation in the 300–380 nm range and dissipates it as heat, preventing photodegradation of the base material. It is used in polyolefin and PVC compounds to extend service life, and in industrial coatings and printing inks where substrate yellowing and gloss loss under UV exposure must be controlled.

UV-1 is supplied as a light yellow to yellow semi-solid and is available in commercial grades suitable for plastics, coatings, adhesives, and packaging applications.
