Description

Ethyl linalool (CAS 10339-55-6, EC 233-732-6), also referred to as methyl linalool or rhodinol (nature), is a naturally occurring terpene alcohol with the molecular formula C11H20O. It belongs to the linalool family of fragrance compounds and carries no assigned E-code, as it functions primarily as a fragrance ingredient rather than a regulated food additive.

In personal care and cosmetic formulations, ethyl linalool contributes floral-woody scent character and is used to build or extend linalool-type accords in fine fragrance and rinse-off products. In coatings and printing applications, it functions as a fragrance modifier that masks solvent odours and improves the sensory profile of finished products during and after application.

Ethyl linalool is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU-based supply and should comply with IFRA guidelines when used in consumer-facing formulations. Suppliers typically offer it in standard drum and IBC packaging. Buyers should confirm purity grade and GC specification with the supplier prior to procurement.
